Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme

The Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme (LPTIP) is a multi-year programme that is being delivered in partnership between Leeds City Council and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

The scheme dramatically improved public transport and active travel across Leeds.

MCC have been supporting Leeds City Council by providing independent commercial assurance across the entirety of the programme, and this has culminated in the early financial close out to provide cost certainty and confidence to commit to schemes later in the programme.

Start Date: June 2017

Completion Date: December 2022

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom

This programme of works intends to double the amount of bus usage over a 10-year period, through the introduction of Park & Ride schemes, bus priority corridors, cycle infrastructure, junction improvements to reduce congestion, and public realm works.

Projects include:

  • Stourton Park & Ride

  • A61 and A646 Corridor Improvements

  • The Headrow Gateway

  • The Corn Exchange Gateway

  • Temple Green Park & Ride

Working with LCC’s project management and finance teams we provided independent commercial assurance across this £180m programme culminating in the roll out of innovative early financial close out to provide cost certainty and confidence to commit to schemes later in the programme.
